
Pichai Sundararajan, better known as Sundar Picha is an Indian-American business executive. [6] He serves as the chief executive officer (CEO), of Alphabet Inc.'s subsidiary Google. Born in Madurai, India.[4] Pichai graduated from IIT Kharagpur with a degree in metallurgical engineer. He graduated with an M.S. in the United States after relocating to the United States. from Stanford University in materials science as well as engineering. He further earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was awarded the Siebel Scholar and an Palmer Scholar, respectively.Pchai began his career as a material engineer. After a brief stint with McKinsey and Co. as a management consultant, Pichai was hired by Google in 2004 to oversee the product management and innovation for several Google's clients products. These comprised ChromeOS and ChromeOS. He also led Google Drive. Pichai also managed the development of Google Maps, Gmail, and other apps. In 2010, Pichai also declared the open-sourcing of the new video codec VP8 created by Google and announced the new video format, WebM. The Chromebook was launched in 2012. In 2013 Pichai included Android to the catalog of Google products he oversees.
