Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised with twelve other kids. Her imaginative mind helped her escape from the pressures of daily life. Prior to learning how to read or write Dolly Parton was composing her own songs. After getting her first instrument at age of 8, she began to perform on radio stations in Knoxville in Tennessee. That that same year, Gold Band Records was an independent label. Her name was made in the local scene while at high school, but always dreamed of having a bigger stage. The singer moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. The first charting record she had for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on his television show that was syndicated. Parton was hired in the year 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. Parton quit the Wagoner's band in 1974 after her own songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene outsold the collaborations. Parton's hit song, I'll Never Be Loved by You (for Wagoner), reached the number. 1 spot after they separated. In 1974, the song by Parton"I Will Never Love You peaked at the No.
